SYNOPSIS
In “Dolphin Summer” Sarah and her best friend Michael win an internship at a Bahamian marine sanctuary for the summer. Sarah has been dreaming of a glamorous marine biology career, hoping to work at a theme park, but during her summer in the Bahamas, Sarah forms a deep bond with Bimini, a rescued dolphin and discovers that her true passion lies in animal rescue and marine conservation.
Under the mentorship of Kai Smith and seasoned trainers Clarence and Tommi, Sarah and the interns immerse themselves in caring for the sanctuary's animals. But their paradise turns perilous when Kai falls mysteriously ill, leaving his scheming nephew Niko in charge. Niko takes over the sanctuary and immediately makes plans to sell the land and the animals. Determined, Sarah and friends stage a daring rescue of Bimini from one of Niko’s buyers. But the victory is short-lived as it looks like Niko will succeed in closing the place down.
To honor Kai’s legacy, the interns organize a live-streaming dolphin show to showcase the sanctuary’s beauty to the world before it closes for good. Kai makes a miraculous recovery and is able to attend the show being held in his honor. But he’s not alone, he’s brought the police with him - Niko's plot was exposed by the doctors who uncovered his poisoning scheme.
With justice served and the sanctuary no longer in jeopardy of closing, Kai offers Sarah a job for next summer, cementing her mission to protect marine life. As she bids Bimini farewell, Sarah looks forward to summers filled with adventure and purpose in the Bahamas.
RHYTHM IS A DANCER
A wonderfully quirky dramatic comedy about a young woman connecting with her biological (sperm-donor) father while also working out her relationship with her mom and trying to find herself.
